“I exist to tell you about the amazing things that are out there in the world waiting for you to experience.”
Unraveled Artist Interview:
Q: Why did you make this song? What does it mean to you?
A:This is my favorite song to play. It’s a love song that was inspired by the wonderful, simplistic thoughts of being a child again. It’s written to be open to interpretation in whatever form the listener sees it pertains to them; a pretty girl, a mother or father, a lost loved one, a relative, a true friendship. In my songwriting I try to capture the innocence of childhood because it’s an idea that so many of us lose as we grow up. The thought of a child drawing a picture of two people holding hands on a sunny day is truly a beautiful image and a loving gesture that is created right from their heart and shows what they’re really thinking.
To me “Pictures in the Sun” is about finding that special person who you can share your life with. Being free to express yourself without limitations or judgments and living in complete happiness because of it. Being a child at heart while day after day creating your own pictures in the sun that serve as the memories to forever look back on.
Q: What do you want listeners to understand from this creation?
A: Love the people who are most important in your life, you never know how long they’ll be around. Do nice things for people that deserve it, no matter how small the deed, it will make a difference. They’ll appreciate it. In return you’ll do your part by spreading positive energy into the karma world. And draw someone a picture every once in a while. Make their day, or at least watch them smile.
Q: How can people support you further?
A: Pick up my killer debut solo disc “The Monster Under My Bed.” You can visit and like my facebook page and message me to get a physical disc, a digi-pack with a 12 page booklet of art and lyrics. For you modern digital lovers, check iTunes, Amazon, and my Soundcloud page. Love it, play it, study it, spread it to your friends, tell your bartender about it, give it to your local radio station and come see my live shows.
Listen to the words, study the lyrics, listen to the music, and let the pictures paint themselves. Send me your feedback and let me know what my songs mean to you and how you interpret them. Honestly, that’s the best thing that you could do to support me.
Q: What is your ultimate vision for your work?
A: Spread my music to people who are willing to appreciate the hard work and dedication that goes into the process. I want to tell my stories through my art. I want to travel to as many places as I can, share my original art with as many people as I can, and build on my life experiences through that.
Q: Do you consider your music to fall within a genre(s)?
A: I don’t think music should be restricted to a genre. Music is a form of art and a person’s frame of mind and creativity can be expressed in many different ways to capture many different emotions or experiences. If you think of great artists of our time, they’ve been able to create their own genres by being themselves. What genre is Pearl Jam? Well, there is no genre. They are Pearl Jam….They sound like Pearl Jam. Music has no restrictions or limitations. Unleash the Monster Under The Bed, that hidden magnificent creativity that is hiding within all of you waiting to show its true self. Five un-restricted, genre free words to describe my music: Groovy, Imaginative, Meaningful, Emotional, Storytelling.
