“When I was four years old, I decided that I wanted to be a singer and I never looked back.”
Unraveled Artist Interview:
Q: Why did you make this song? What does it mean to you?
A: I was inspired to write this song after I experienced sleep paralysis. I was awake, but lying motionless in my bed and I was terrified. In addition to my physical paralysis, my life was standing still. The song became a metaphor for feeling stuck, and wishing that I had the courage to accomplish my dreams and find my freedom.
Q: What do you want listeners to understand from this creation?
A: Even though the song ends with a final chorus expressing a feeling of sadness, the true message of the song is that you do have your own wings to fly, and you will move towards your dreams. Every life moves at its own pace, some faster than others, but that doesn’t mean that you have failed. Every choice is your own to make.
Q: How can people support you further?
A: The best way to support me is to follow me on Twitter, Facebook, and ReverbNation, where you can sign up for my email list. I’m releasing an album soon, and can’t wait to share it with everyone that I can! If you like what I do and follow my work, it will give me a better chance of having a tour stop in your area! Help me make my touring dreams a reality!
Q: What is your ultimate vision for your work?
A: So far, I have released two singles. The ultimate vision is to release full albums, and to eventually tour and perform all over the world. And to be honest, I would really love for one of my songs to be placed in a Zach Braff production. That has always been my dream.
Q: Do you consider your music to fall within a genre(s)?
A: The current tracks I have released fall within the indie folk pop category. That is most often how I am described by others. I have recently begun moving towards the synth pop/dream pop genre, which is an interesting combination with my vocal harmonies. Stay tuned, and you’ll hear some really cool tracks coming soon!
