“I’m about 20 years into figuring out why I exist.”
Unraveled Artist Interview:
Q: Why did you make this song? What does it mean to you?
A: Privacy really just came out of me. I’m in this stage of my life where I write about things that I don’t really understand, until I do. This song forced me to come to terms with the fact that I have to respect the relationship I have with myself enough to know when it’s more important than the time I spend with someone else, even if I’m head over heels in love.
Q: What do you want listeners to understand from this creation?
A: This song shouldn’t make you “understand” anything more than what you take away from it. Whatever this song means to you, is exactly as I intended. Honestly I’m too happy it would mean anything to you at all to pretend to worry about the specifics.
Q: How can people support you further?
A: At this stage of the game, just stay in touch. I’m embarrassingly obsessed with meeting new people. So like say hey. Mama loves twitter: @braytonbowman
Q: What is your ultimate vision for your work?
A: I want to make music that speaks to where I am right now, that is honest, and paints an accurate picture of what I see. Ultimately, I just want to make music that is worth feeling something over.
Q: Do you consider your music to fall within a genre(s)?
A: The dreaded genre question. If I had to: I’d say that weird place where soul, pop, and r&b are sitting in a circle holding hands. Unconventionally speaking: stank, twerkage, and always a lil somethin’ somethin’ for the ratchets.
